They are clearly counting on people forgetting they have one because they never showed the price or gave you a way to say "No Thanks" in the checkout process itself. They use the language "then current rates." Well, the then current rate is north of $400 / year adding a big cost to the machine itself. There is no way to opt-out of the membership in the signup process and they don't tell you how much the renewal will be. So we have been paying twice for iFit accounts. As an indication of how unclear this was, my wife signed up independently with her OWN iFit account around the same time we got the NordicTrack originally. Somehow this snuck by me without me noticing but I started to notice it when another year passed and they started charging me $39 / month. And it signed me up for the biggest plan - the "Coach family plan" on an annual amount which was $425.70.

What happens is NordicTrack / iFit signs you up for a free 12 month subscription when you buy equipment but then charges you for that subscription at current rates when the 12 months is up. I am just now figuring out what happened next. I bought a NordicTrack in 2020 for my wife.

I definitely don’t want a trainer constantly trying to push me to the next level (whatever that is). I just want to ride like you would on a real bike, watching the beautiful scenery go by while you exercise. I’m not sure why iFit makes you ride with a trainer? They have a boatload of trainers but they’re all none stop talkers with more energy than a 2 year old and quite frankly that gets irritating. You can program a route with google maps but the resolution is low (it’s google maps) and the video flows about a frame every 3-4 seconds. There really aren’t any riding options other than classes or an ultra talkative trainer. It didn’t take long for me to turn off the sound and not listen to them. IFit is fine if you want to take a class or ride with an energetic trainer that talks all through your workout. I’ve used iFit with my NordicTrack bike for about 16 months.
